There is also a negative side of using social media, that is, by putting yourself out there you open up your world to more chances to be attacked by things like slut shaming. Social Media World Wide

This map displays the most popular social network in each of the country's highlighted. Facebook has the largest amount of people using the site at an astonishing 1 billion users. Out of all the social network users 56% of these users are females. Between home computers and mobile devices there is a total of about 121 billion minutes spend on a social network as of July 2012 and Americans make up more than half of this number at 74 billion minutes. Social networks not only plays a roll in being able to connect and stay in touch with friends but also has an impact on politics and business advertisement. Things such as protests in Egypt and Iran were fueled and organized by social media.
